This line fit perfectly on my 1999 Jeep Cherokee. The most difficult part is removing the quick disconnect near the radiator. Use a 3/8″ quick disconnect tool and be patient since space is tight. Be prepared to drop it a few times and have to fish is out from behind the fender splash panel.I cut the rubber hose part of the line and drained as much trans fluid as possible. My guess is about a half pint comes out. Make a note of how the line runs parallel to the other trans line. This line runs ‘above’ the second line. The connection at the trans is also a quick disconnect but no tool is needed for removal. There are two ‘tabs’ sticking out on either side of the line. Wiggle the line and then blow out the dust before squeezing the tabs together and slowly wiggle the line out. I purchased a new quick disconnect from Amazon (Dorman 800-714) in case I needed to replace any broken parts during removal and also to see how the line is connected to it. When you install the new line to the trans fitting put the plastic clip with the ‘tabs’ on the line first and lube the tip of the line with some trans fluid. Go slow wiggling the new line into the fitting so you don’t dislodge the two o-rings in the connector and you can see when the plastic clip locks in place.Inserting the quick disconnect at the radiator is a pain. You don’t need any tools since the line ‘snaps’ into place. You have very limited space to work in and you need to really push the line to get it to lock on. Place a few drops of trans fluid in the female end of the fitting on the o-rings and using a slow twisting motion push the line onto the fitting on the radiator. You should hear a click when the line is secured. Each time I thought I had it on I twisted the line and tried to pull it off and it came off several times. If you force it too hard you can feel the brass line from the radiator bend. Just keep trying until you hear a click or cannot pull it off by hand.Secure the clips holding the line along its length and start it up to check for leaks. Check the fittings for leaks for a couple of days and you’re done. Good Luck!
