1999 Hungarian “Briani” style solo bass

Description This 1999 Hungarian “Cipriano Briani” model. It is a very fine example of Italian-style craftsmanship.  The 2-piece section of spruce used for the top plate shows boldly defined grain of medium-fine width at the center and fine grain at the edges. The maple ribs and back plate are of medium density and feature complex tap tones. The maple neck has been fit with a Maureen Pando C extension and Kolstein tuning machines. The ebony fingerboard has a soloist’s cut with ended length for the G and D strings. The bridge is a Kolstein unit with wooden adjusters. The endpin is an adjustable steel rod mechanism from Kolstein. The adjustable tailpiece is also by Kolstein. The dark wine-colored varnish is neatly applied and in good general condition. Dimensions are: Top length 43″, Upper bout width 18″, Middle bout width 13 1/2″, Lower bout width 28″, Rib depth at tail 8″, Rib depth at upper bout corner 7 3/8″, Rib depth at neck joint 6 3/4″, String length 40 7/8″.
