I bought this for my 2003 DRZ400S. My original tank cracked due to age. This aftermarket tank is very inexpensive compared to the genuine Suzuki part. When compared to the original tank, this one feels just as thick. Size compared to the original was spot on. It fit in the motorcycle just like the original.The only con I see is there is a lot of left over plastic from the molding process on this tank. This is especially apparent at the two nipples where the rubber hoses connect to the tank. I could completely understand how the tank “could leak” if it was installed WITHOUT removing the excess plastic from the hose nipples. I am sure this is why several people report in their reviews the tanks leak when they attach the rubber hose.Before installing my tank, I took about three minutes to carefully cut away the left over plastic at the nipples. I took my time and made the nipples nice and round with no jagged edges. Now when I put my rubber hoses on the tank, I did not have any leaks at all. Also, I am re-using the original hoses and hose clamps that are 21 years old. NO LEAKS! So if you are willing to take a few minutes to clean up the hose connection nipples, you can save yourself $40 compared to buying a Suzuki brand tank.
